Sanilac Shores Preserve

MV Great Lakes Diver, Port Sanilac Marina, Michigan. 586 792 2040.

Located on the southwestern shores of Lake Huron, the preserve was established in 1980 to promote the conservation of some fifteen or so wrecks that lie submerged within a 16 mile radius of Port Sanilac.

The closest and shallowest wrecks lie in little over 15' of water, several of the more popular are in the 40-100' range, whilst the deepest and furthest for recreational divers lie around the 120' mark. Several others wrecks can be visited by tech divers.

Some of the wrecks can be penetrated whilst others are too small, too broken up or too old for it to be safe. Some are wooden, some steel, some are older (1856), some newer (1975), some are large and some are very small. There is a wonderful variety and our trips can be planned for either specific experience levels or to cater for a variety of divers in one trip.
